Valentine's Day falls on a Friday this year, and Nashville's music venues are celebrating with a slew of special concerts in Music City. Peruse our guide if you're looking for a musical way to spend the holiday:

- Wynonna Judd will step in for an under-the-weather Kenny Rogers at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Feb. 14 and 15. Tickets are $39-$115 and are available at NashvilleSymphony.org, Schermerhorn Symphony Center box office or by calling 615-687-6400.

- The Nashville Jazz Orchestra teams up with Raul Malo (of Mavericks fame) for "Valentine Romance" at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. The show takes place at Ingram Hall at 8 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 14, and tickets are $20 adults; $15 seniors (65+) and Vanderbilt faculty and staff; free for students with ID. Tickets are available at the door.

- It’s turned into an unlikely Nashville tradition: It’s just not Valentine’s Day (or weekend) in town without a visit from Rick Springfield. The “Jessie’s Girl” singer and “General Hospital” star plays a two-night stand at the Wildhorse Saloon - thanks, in part, to a Nashville friend's tour bus. 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14-15, Wildhorse Saloon (120 Second Ave. N., 615-902-8200), $47.50-$190

- Edwin McCain ("I'll Be") spends Valentines Day at 3rd & Lindsley with special guest Erick Baker. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $25-$50.

- Celtic Woman has a two-night stand at TPAC's Jackson Hall on Feb. 14-15 as part of "The Emerald Tour." The all-new production aims to celebrate Ireland through traditional anthems, pop standards and original music. The shows start at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $35-$101.50.

- Singer-songwriter duo (and spouses) Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis perform at Franklin Theatre on Fri., Feb. 14. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $32-$47.

In the non-Valentine (but still special events) department: two local standouts are celebrating releases of new albums on Friday night.

- Hit country songsmith Irene Kelley’s first album in 10 years, “Pennsylvania Coal,” is a bluegrass collection, which the native Pennsylvanian has had on her “bucket list” since moving to Nashville 30 years ago. Kelley will perform at the Station Inn at 9 p.m. Fri., Feb. 14, and tickets are $10.

- Americana favorite Will Kimbrough will play a Valentine’s evening show in celebration of his seventh solo album, “Sideshow Love,” a set of songs themed around relationships. The show starts at 8 p.m. Fri., Feb. 14, and tickets are $10 at the door.
